Here is yesterday’s pictures!
I snapped a photo of the river at the state park as I left early in the morning
It was a beautiful ride for the first hour
The farmland looked beautiful in the morning mist
Cows
More cows
I didn’t see any elk but it was cool to think they were nearby
I don’t know what these interesting plants are, but I’ve seen a lot of them
I was wondering if I would ever get anywhere that told me for sure I was on the right course, and then I saw this through the clouds. Civilization must be in that direction.
I made it Elma and then continued on. Some guys were enjoying a Sunday on the river
Beehives!
Tired and retired LOL I didn’t stay here but I liked their sign
Camden! I thought of you when I saw these. They were really big.
The road followed near a river
The river made for some very pretty scenery
Buffalo?
The day was clear and the mountain looked much more impressive than in this photo (Mt St Helens)
Llamas?
Lumber is a big thing in this area
I liked the wolves in front of this hotel in Centralia
This is the third marijuana shop I’ve seen
The train passed behind me as I made my way to the RV park. It must be the line that woke me up this morning
The sun is coming out, though the weather report says it could still rain more. I am very tempted to pack up and maybe find a place to hang out for some lunch. The Lewis and Clark state park is about 25 miles away, so reasonable destination for today. I’m glad to be caught up with photos and correspondence, so time to make more stories and take more photos!

Oh, the places you’ll go! Some of this reminds me of Least-Heat Moon’s ‘Blue Highways.’ You’ll see a part of America (and other places) that very few ever do. Thanks for keeping us updated, and have fun!

That’s what is so cool about bicycle travel and seeing the world at 10 mph.

Oh, I love that book “Lost Highways”. Kris, I follow you almost every day, and if I can’t I see the photos that Joel posts, so I know where you are and what you are doing. Keep up your strength and try to eat well. I seriously think you should write a book when your trip is over. You are such an inspiration…and brave…OMG…brave. I don’t think I would have spent the night alone. You meet the most interesting people, too. That poor little lady trying to live in her run-down camper. Keep trucking and keep writing. xxxooo

Others have also mentioned a book, so this is one reason for the blog, a recorded if I need it in the future. Brave? Nah, just in a spot. At that moment there was no other choice since I was too far from anywhere else and it was getting dark soon. If there are neighbors though I try to talk with them. They are more likely to keep an eye on your stuff that way and you also meet some really interesting people.

Reading your blog is fascinating. I am full of admiration for you. Was curious that someone mentioned following your route and GPS. Was wondering how we can do that? Take care and enjoy.
